She's Busy This Week. 'No Worries' Is the Worst Reply.

Six things she says about her calendar, the reply most guys send back, and the version that keeps the plan alive.

5 min

"No worries, let me know when you're free."

That sentence has killed more matches than any bad opener ever has. It sounds polite. It's actually you handing her a task with no deadline, no details and no reason to do it — and then waiting by the phone to see whether she does your admin for you.

When she tells you she's busy, she's handing you a scheduling problem. Solve it like one. Six lines you'll hear, and what to send instead.

1. "Sorry, this week is mad — work is eating me alive"

❌ "no worries! let me know when things calm down"

✅ "brutal. right, I'm claiming Thursday next week in advance — that wine place on the corner, 7. if work is still eating you by then I'll bring a fork"

Why: the weak version puts the next move on the person who just told you her plate is full. The strong one takes the whole decision off her: a day, a place, a time, one word to answer. She's not too busy to say "yes" — she's too busy to plan.

2. "I'm away till Sunday, visiting my parents"

❌ "have fun!! 😊"

✅ "enjoy — I want a report on whether your dad has got worse with the barbecue. and I'm putting Tuesday in pencil for us, assuming you survive"

Why: "have fun" is a full stop. Nothing in it needs a reply, so the thread goes quiet for four days and you both restart cold. Leave a hook she can answer from the car and a soft date already on the table.

3. "Can we do next week instead?"

❌ "of course, whatever works for you!"

✅ "yeah easily. Tuesday or Thursday — pick your poison and I'll book it"

Why: "whatever works for you" feels generous and lands as effort she now owes you. Two options is a question anyone can answer in three seconds. This is the same move that gets you through the gap between her yes and the actual date.

4. "I'll let you know!"

(next morning) "hey! any thoughts on this week? 😄"

(nothing for two days, then) "ok, imposing structure: Wednesday, 8, the Thai place you slandered. yes or reschedule me"

Why: this is the genuinely ambiguous one, and chasing it inside 24 hours converts a maybe into a no. Give it room, then come back once with a plan rather than three times with a question mark. If it stays quiet after that, the silence after an ask is its own signal — read it and move on.

5. "I'm honestly so bad at making plans lol"

❌ "haha same, I'm the worst"

✅ "lucky for you I'm insufferable about it. Saturday, 4pm, the coffee place on Bold Street. all you have to do is turn up and have opinions"

Why: she just told you exactly what she needs and you agreed to be equally useless. Two people apologising for being bad at logistics never meet. Be the one with the calendar.

6. Three days of silence, then: "sorry!! just seeing this"

❌ "no worries, thought I'd been ghosted 😅"

✅ "you're forgiven, conditionally. the offer from Tuesday stands — still Thursday, still that noodle place. in?"

Why: the first version audits her and makes her manage your feelings before she can answer. Don't grade the delay. Pick the thread up exactly where it was, like nothing happened, and let the plan be the only thing on the table.

When busy actually means no

It's not always logistics. The tell isn't the delay — it's the counter-offer. A woman with a full week but real interest will hand you something back: a day that does work, a "next week is better", a reason with a shape to it. Two rounds of vague deferral with nothing offered in return is a decision, politely worded. Stop proposing and get on with your week. She may still surface; that's her move to make now, not yours. Same logic applies when she turns down a specific day — what she gives you back matters more than the no.

Some of this is just knowing which of the two replies you're about to send. If you can't tell, hintder will read a screenshot of the chat and draft a few versions in the tone you pick — you choose one and send it yourself. First three are free. It's a second opinion on your thumbs, not a ghostwriter.

Busy is a calendar problem. Send a calendar solution, not a polite little bow.
